FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Am I eligible?
At The Psygentra Institute, we decided against having strict criteria for our online courses. This is because we recognize a wide range of knowledges and didn't want people to be excluded from studying because they had not completed a particular kind of training. So whether you have a PhD in gender studies, an undergrad in social work, or are self taught through lived experience and/or community engagement - if we think you're the right fit, we won't turn you away just because you don't have the right piece of paper.
Will I have the time?
Our courses are designed for busy people who want to develop their skills in areas that either aren't covered in their current training, or who are already qualified and looking to further their expertise. We understand that students have jobs, theses to write, families to support, and lives beyond work and study. We aim to make our learning experience as easy and flexible as possible. We provide you with video lectures that are divided into short segments so you can watch five minutes or two hours, depending on how much time and energy you have. We have information in a range of formats, from books and journal articles, to short and engaging blogs, and live video chats and Q&As - and nothing is compulsory. We let you be in charge of your learning. We also let you choose your assignment - selecting something that works for your current situation and career and your time limits. We are here to support you every step of the way.
How can I pay?
Payments can be made via our online shop (once you have recieved confirmation that your application was successful). Fees must be paid prior to the start of day, week, and monthly courses, but our yearly courses can be paid in full or on a monthly basis. Most of our students get funding from their university departments or organizations and we are happy to provide invoices, receipts, and certificates of completion. We do offer a limited number of reduced rate places for those experiencing financial hardship - please contact Dr. Jemma Tosh for more information.
