In-Person Trauma Therapy

Service Description

This office has beautiful views and soundproofed rooms. It's a very calming place to heal. A one-to-one appointment with Dr. Jem Tosh (they/she), a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society, a Full Member of the Canadian Psychological Association, and a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, Canada. Jem is a Doctor of Psychology, a therapist, an educator, consultant, and an award-winning researcher and author. Jem provides therapies that she has personally encountered during her own healing journey. They combine this knowledge from direct lived experience with an extensive career in research and years of working in a variety of clinical settings, to provide a deep and comprehensive understanding of violence, abuse, s*xual abuse, trauma, and healing. Jem uses a non-pathologising, anti-oppressive, and affirming approach that is trauma-centred. She analyses trauma responses as functional behaviours developed for survival, and works with clients to adapt or reduce responses that have become difficult or harmful over time. Available to adult residents of British Columbia, Canada only. Intensives available on request. When booking in advance or booking multiple sessions, you can either pay in full or select 'Pay Later' to pay for each session within 24 hours of the appointment time. An invoice will be sent to your email 48 hours before the start time, to be paid online. Payment is due at least 24 hours before to confirm each appointment. CANCELLATION POLICY: For in-person appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, a one time fee of $75CAD may be charged to reimburse the labour and/or materials of preparing for the appointment, room rental, and lost income.  NO SHOW POLICY: If you do not turn up to appointments you may be required to confirm your attendance the day of your appointment. SLIDING SCALE: I do offer reduced options for those on low/insecure income and/or experiencing financial hardship, please contact for details. *Please note all low/insecure and financial hardship spots are CURRENTLY FULL.
