Reading and Research Group

A friendly and supportive space to discuss readings and ask questions.

  • 15 Canadian dollars
  • Virtual Group

Service Description

Join our virtual monthly meetings to learn and discuss feminist psychology, critical psychology, discourse analysis, gender, sexuality, violence, trauma, and more! Discover new work and theories, recommend readings you love or can't stand, get advice and feedback on projects you are working on, and connect with others. Must be signed up to the (free) Reading and Research Group Subscription to book a space - go to the 'Support Us' tab for more information. Small Group Size: Meetings are limited to a maximum of five people at a time to ensure that there is time for everyone to participate (if they chose to), and to create a non-intimidating and supportive space. Soft Start Times: To make our meetings more accessible, we provide a time range when the meeting can begin. You can arrive up to 15 minutes either side of the stated time without missing core content. If you join after the 15 minutes, you will still be welcomed to the group, but you may have missed some information. No End Time: To make sure that meetings are flexible for your individual needs, there is no specified end time. You can choose to stay on after others have left if you are enjoying and engaged in the content. You can also leave whenever you like. Privacy: Meetings are not recorded or shared afterwards. You can talk about what interests you and you don't have to worry about asking an embarrassing question - or turning into a viral meme. Don't forget to check out the members-only forum between meetings! For details of upcoming readings and groups - go to the Reading Group page (under the 'Education' tab)
