Counselling Intensive In-Person

Service Description

A one-to-one intensive with Dr. Jem Tosh (they/she), a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society, a Full Member of the Canadian Psychological Association, and a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, Canada. Jem is a Doctor of Psychology, a therapist, an educator, consultant, and an award-winning researcher and author. Jem provides therapies that she has personally encountered during her own healing journey. They combine this knowledge from direct lived experience with an extensive career in research and years of working in a variety of clinical settings, to provide a deep and comprehensive understanding of violence, abuse, s*xual abuse, trauma, and healing. Jem uses a non-pathologising, anti-oppressive, and affirming approach that is trauma-centred. She analyses trauma responses as functional behaviours developed for survival, and works with clients to adapt or reduce responses that have become difficult or harmful over time. Intensives allow for clients to make significant progress in trauma processing. Rather than space processing sessions hourly over 4 weeks, with additional time spent checking-in, clients can choose to condense that reprocessing into a single 4-hour session. Good for those who want to see faster results regarding trauma processing and who can manage spending a significant amount of time focusing on their trauma. _________________________________________________________________________________________ CANCELLATION POLICY: For appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, a one time fee of $150CAD is charged to reimburse the labour and/or materials of preparing for the appointment, room rental, and lost income.  NO SHOW POLICY: If you do not turn up to appointments you may be required to confirm your attendance the day of your appointment.
